Brinjal, Crispy Pork, Druken Prawn, Frog, Genting, Ginger, Gohtong Jaya, Lala, Reaturant Tak Kee, Soon Hock

The weather is so hot lately that I was half tempted to head to Gohtong Jaya just for lunch. You can enjoy relatively nice cooling breeze there as Gohtong Jaya is halfway up to Genting Highlands. Sometimes at night, it can go down to about 12~14 degree (especially when it rains). Tak Kee is one of hub’s and our friends’ favourite place to eat in Gohtong Jaya.

Crispy Pork in thick sauce. The pork is sliced thinly and fried until crispy. Then, stir fry with caramelized black sauce until it gives the pork a thin sticky layer. Yumzz… Usually, we (group of about 6 person) can easily finish 2 orders of this!!!

Stir Fry Brinjal (Aubergine) with dried prawns. This is my favourite. (salivating…)

Steam Soon Hock (Marbled Goby) with soya sauce. It’s very fresh because most of the Soon Hock in Genting is alive (i.e. swimming in the tank before being consumed). I heard that there’s a pond in Genting which rear this particular fish. The last time we had it (which is around end 2011) it was priced at about RM 120/kg. I think the fish we had was about 1.5 kg or slightly less than that.

Crispy frog with ginger. You would have thought the frog is the main dish here. But I think in this case, it is definitely the ginger. I love the way they manage to make the ginger so..so..sooo crispy that it felt like we were chewing into chips. This was the first time we tried this. Definitely yumzZz.. but we felt the poor frog was a little wasted to eat this way. Perhaps the next time, we should just order crispy ginger. Heehehee…

Lala (clam) in superior soup. The lala was really fresh and plump (It’s not the normal flat small type… kind of remind me of the Aussie’s pipi). Personally, I find this is the best way to prepare fresh lala. Any other way always seems to cover the fresh lala taste and you end up eating the sauce instead.

Claypot Druken Prawn in Glass Noodle. All time favourite whenever we are in Tak Kee. The prawns are always fresh and it really helps to heat up your body from the tons of wine and ginger they used. Lucky the weather is so nice and cooling there. I can’t imagine eating this somewhere hot. Probably sweat like mad.

Stir Fry Potato leaves. Normal dish. Nothing to rave about. But, feel the need to have at least one plate of green after all the ‘fatty’ food we eat.

Wow.. the 6 of us actually finish all these and double portion of the crispy pork somemore. Scary.

What a mouthful! This is their 4th show.

So, when Ms. J asked if hub and I was interested to go watch Indicinelive, I was a bit skeptic and curious at the same time. Priced at RM 38 / adult, we decided, why not.

Venue: Actors Studio @ Lot 10.

It’s my first time in this studio. I love the roof top garden right outside the studio! It’s so beautiful and romantic… It would be AMAZING to have photo shoot here. The layout of the studio is really simple and nice. I love the chairs (very simple and yet comfy).

As this was my first time watching Indicinelive, I had totally no idea what it is about except that it is made up of short sketches. The opening was a little weak (in my opinion). It felt like everything was thrown together last minute and something which you can get from campfire events (during our high-school days).

Since I was having a slight headache that night, I was moaning to myself. Should I sit thru the whole show or just to leave half way? I was super glad I stayed for the next sketch.

It only went uphill from then on. The team did a great job bringing humor to our day-to-day lives. I love the parodies of songs which they sang. Hahaha…one of the song stuck in my mind even till now!!!

I really enjoyed myself and the best part? My headache was gone! And, I didn’t even take Panadol!!! Laughing is indeed the best medicine. 😉

The show is still on-going until 17th June 2012. If you wanna enjoy some casual comedy night out…why not give it a go. BTW, it’s free seating. So, go early !!! ;p

The past few days is so hot. Last night measured at 39.5 degree… !!! Even after setting my air-con on full blast at 16 degree… the room only reach about 30 degree after one hour ! sighh…

Reminds me of those days when I got stuck in Melbourne during summer ! Temperature can get as high as 42 degree ! but, for some reason, if you hide at home, it is not as HOT.

melting…
