How many of you hate moisturizing your body? I know I do. Why?

1)     I am just plain lazy. It’s a lot of work to moisturize the whole body, ok! (At least a solid 15mins if you want to do a proper job)

2)     It’s normally so thick and creamy that it takes damn a lot of effort to evenly apply it. Or, you leave white streaks and patches around.

3)     The sticky feeling you get after moisturizing. Yucks.

4)     My fingers are so oily after I finish that I need to wash it off with soap before I can do anything else.

So thankfully, I’ve been blessed with relatively ok body skin.

Unfortunately during my early this month trip to France, my body skin starts to rebel against me. Sob sob… it got really dried and itchy. My once smooth skin starts looking like tree bark. As I have never had need to moisturize my body, I didn’t pack any lotion with me.

I made a quick visit to a local pharmacy (I think it was in Lille town centre) to try and get something for it. The pharmacist proposes I give Caudalie Body butter a try. She told me it was superb. I bought it on the spot, ran back to the hotel and start using it.

When I squeeze out the thick cream, my heart sank. It’s going to be one of those really oily ones. Ahhhh….. (I guess I really need it to be oily to drown my skin and bring it back to life)

When I spread it across my leg, I was shocked. It had not only glided smoothly across my skin, the body butter absorbs immediately leaving behind smooth silky finish. It was amazing how light the texture felt on my finger and the best part is it didn’t feel oily or sticky at all. It was so easy and effortless to apply.

The best part, my skin was back to its original condition (before I travel), after a mere 2-3 applications (about 2 days). It was really a good product.

I was so in loved with this body butter that I bought back home with 2 more tube… hehehe. The smell of the body butter is really nice too. (It’s like grape…mainly because their main ingredient is suppose to be the extract from grape vine)

beach I know I should be writting about my Day 2, but, I am so excited to share this. So, I am going to skip ahead…

Yay, after days and days of cold days and snow, I am in Juan les Pins now. It is very near to Nice and Cannes. So, it is Hot HOt HOT !! unfortunately for me, ;o( today, it is raining when I arrive. So, it is slightly cold. But still nice.

I manage to do a little of beach trekking today. Walked for miles along the beach. It was lovely.

As most of you know, Cote d’Azur is famous for their coast / French Riviera.

sea-rambutan

While strollin’ along the beach, I found many funny egg-ish thingy scattered about. It is really weird as it reminds me alot of ‘Rambutan’ (hairy red skinned fruit found typically in tropic country)

But another thing which this Provençal is quite famous for is the perfumery.

Gasse which is slightly north from where I am now, is famous for its perfume since the end of the 18th century. As you can find from wiki, it is also known as the world’s perfume capital ! The provocal name ? Provençal Occitan

Ahh.. most of you would find Occitan familiar eh? YEs – it is none other than the currently favourite brand of mine L’occitane. While shopping around for the honey n lemon delightful cream for my friend (as this is not available in Kuala Lumpur – not sure why? ), I was shown to try out their new range. Peach Blossom .. It was absoulute delicious !!! So yummmy… hehehe.. ;oP

L'occitane Peach Blossom

It will be day-light saving at around 2am tomorrow (29th March) and with one hour advance to 3am (meh – I lose one hour of sleep).

I can’t wait for tomorrow hoping to be able to catch some SUN !!

Wish me luck ;o)

Motion Sickness, Origins, Peace of Mind

This little chulet will be going on a long business trip to Europe next week…

One of the essential thing which she always pack is her ‘Peace of Mind’.

You see, unlike all chulet’s family members, chulet gets car-sick very easily. (And usually, on the business trip, it will mean spending hours and hours on the road..)

It is never destine for chulet to be chauffeured but to always graciously offered to be the driver.

The weird part is chulet never gets sea-sick or air-sick !!

According to wiki – When feeling motion but not seeing it (for example, in a ship with no windows), the inner eartransmits to the brain that it senses motion, but the eyes tell the brain that everything is still. As a result of the disconcordance, the brain will come to the conclusion that one of them is hallucinating and further conclude that the hallucination is due to poison ingestion. The brain responds by inducing vomiting, to clear the supposed toxin.

But for chulet, it is the case of “I-see-me-in-motion”, I turn green.

When I am on-board the plane or in the ship, I stay away from the windows. As long as I don’t look outside, I am good.

During one of chulet’s trip, she saw this little product from the page of the in-flight sales (sadly – that is the only place chulet usually ends up getting most of her stuff while on business trips). The product is call “Peace of Mind” by Origins. Basically what you do is massage tiny drops of the lotion into the back of your neck, temples, and earlobes. After that, just place your hand in front of your face and breath in deeply. It smells a bit like the eucalyptus leaves (koala’s food).

Peace of Mind - Origins The bottle looks so cute – how could chulet resist. So, Chulet bought 1 pack.

Anyway, Chulet got so addicted to it that on her return flight, She bought another 6 bottles ! (Shame on her !! tsk tskk…)

Now, whenever Chulet travels on road, the motion sickness #__# is no longer so un-bearable…

(I have tried all those motion sickness pills but it makes me sleepy and drowsy, which is not helping since I need to be on my wits the minute I step out from the car to meet my clients)
