Day 3

The trip to Munich took about 3 hours from our hotel. For someone like me, who gets motion sickness, it was suffering.

I took 2 novomin and proceed to sleep for the whole trip. Woke up and found that we arrived into Munich, which is the capital city of upper Bavaria

(Bavaria is also one of the largest federal state in Germany).

We hop off our bus and took a short walk to our first sto, Marienplatz (central square).Marian column

Famous for the Marian column – golden Virgin Mary status to celebrate the end of Swedish occupation (Thirty Years’ war)

And also,

Glockenspiel

The  Glockenspiel (set of bells – in German) which is right outside the new city hall.

Many tourists flocks around the Marienplatz just to watch the little statues coming to life.

As far as I know, the time for viewing this are at 11am, 1pm and 5pm. But I was also told that it moves at   every hour. I was there at 5pm. So, I got to watch it.

Amazingly, the sound travels quite well and clear since I could hear it very well even with the large noisy crowd there.

Took our time walking around this area.

Couldn’t resist talking a picture of Chu-Let’s friend. Look at his post ! So stylish eh… ;o) dsc058511

Had dinner at the Hofbrauhaus (Beer House) – The crowd was crazily enjoying themselves.

Singing, Dancing, eating and Drinking away.

When you order your beer – be prepare for a 1 litre Mug !! You are suppose to hold the Mug with one hand when you drink it.

Beer House

I was also told by a local that there’s a LAW in Bavaria that company must supply their staff with beers or the company can actually be sued !! WOW … Beer lovers out there…. you know where you need to be looking for your jobs !

At long-last, the Day 2 which I was suppose to post (after my Frankfurt – Heidelberb post , which was about one months back ;oP )

Day 2:

Metzingen – A little city with a population of 22,000 located south-west of Germany.
Started of as a wine cultivating town to a textile oriented town, today, Metzingen is famous for its factory outlet a.k.a. Bargain Hunter’s Paradise!!

FACTORY outlet !! Muahaha… ;o)

Metzingen

Apart from that, Metzingen is also the home of HUGO BOSS.

They were the first to start the their factory outlet in Metzingen and soon followed by tons of other brands such as Joop, Burberry, Swatch, Polo Ralph, Escada, Adidas, Bally, Diesel and many many more.

For the list of all the factory outlets available, check out

I was only there for a short while  less than 2 hours

(esh..  I feel like I have to justify myself cause I can so picture my boy lifting one of his eyebrow and ask “‘short while? really? meh…. :oP ).

Hence, I have only manage to visit some of the shops. Of course one of them is Hugo Boss!

How can you be in Hugo Boss’s headquarter and not visit Hugo Boss.

That wouldn’t be very nice now, would it? ;o)  And of course I have a get a little something too. (hehehee…)

There are some discount and great buy on certain items in certain store.

Overall, I would say, non-discount items on these stores are actually priced 20-30% cheaper than the outside shops.

Carpe Diem!

Seize the Day!

The first time I come across this phrase was during my high school prom.
Carpe Diem was the theme for that day. I never really care what it means accept then except that it sounded cool and it’s French!! :oP

Thinking back, I realized how appropriate that had been for me.

I have always been the little mouse amongst families and friends. Preferring to keep my own company and minding my own business. Never do very well in school nor do really badly. Never venture far from home. I was afraid of dark. Stick-like figure and constantly on medication (due to some blood problem).

As we parted after the high school prom, everyone went on their own path. Attended tons of open days and was determine to not follow attend any course where majority of my friends were planning to do. While everyone enrolled themselves into the Australian Program, I did the American Program.

Had great time during my college days and made many friends. Enjoyed the different teaching style and actually did really well in my studies (Dean’s List). My lecturers praise me for my communication abilities and my confidence during presentation. Imagine that !! Me ?!

Carpe Diem!! I think I did seize the day.. ;o)
