God’s gift to me – Leap Day

Since young, I have always find leap day to be fascinating. Perhaps it was because I was still young and the math concept behind this whole extra day business was just too complicated.

To me, the extra day felt like God understood when I needed extra time. There’s just so many things to do and so little time ! I am sure everyone out there face the same problem.

I know Leap day is only 1 extra day out of 1460days (365days x 4 years). But, think about it, it is almost a full minute extra per day (1460 / 24hrs).

And then it strikes me, whenever I am faced with problems, I would moan and whine for hours. Allowing myself to let the issue swim around my mind and manifest. When that happens, hubby would asks me to pray about it and remark that it takes less than a minute for a prayer.

I was reluctant since I give myself the excuse that it takes time to pray. And, the time took for prayer could be efficiently used to solve the problem (most of the time, it is to continue to whine and mull about the problem. Hehehee).

And, you know How amazing is God?

He knows how we always give ourselves the excuse that we have no time. And so, He gave us the extra time. Almost a full minute a day !!!

And true enough, with the less than a minute prayer, God’s presence comfort me and I always found solution to the problem quickly after that. If not, there’s always a feeling like I am wrapped in a blanket of peace knowing God is in charge of the problem.

For many out there, I know leap day is probably just a calculated compensation. But for me, God is so generous that He even gave us the extra time to fit Him in to our ‘busy’ schedule. The gift of the extra time which in return helps us with our daily life. Amazing. Thank you Lord.

God is Good indeed ! Amen.

The Blue Cow Café

Australia, Blue Cow, butcher shop, Cafe, dinner, plaza damas hartamas, Pork, pork chop

Hub and I was not very hungry, so we decided to take our time driving around and choosing random restaurant instead of heading straight to our regular haunt.

So, that’s how we ended up finding the Blue Cow café in plaza damas, hartamas. When we walk in, it felt like I was back in Melbourne’s butcher shop. Huge varieties of meats are stack neatly behind clear glassed refrigerated cabinets. I fell in love even before I sat down to dine.

Since it was our first time there, we decided to try their Meat Platter. They have a few platter sizes which you can choose from and take note that their portions are quite generous.

We decided to try the medium platter, with the choice of 1 sausage, 1 burger patty, 1 kebab (for the sausage, patty and kebab, you can choose between beef, pork, lamb or chicken), 1 pork chop and some bacon, serve with mustard, mint sauce (if you choose lamb) and apple sauce. The platter comes with 2 sides. We chose coleslaw and chips.

*** YES – they serve pork even tough the cafe is call blue cow.

The sausage was nice, but a tad bit salty for me. LOVE the burger patty. (we had the lamb). I didn’t like the kebab but hub liked it. The bacon was normal. The pork chop was yummy !! I like that it is cook well but yet retains the juiciness of the meat (especially since it’s quite a thick cut). The apple sauce was a little bit disappointing. It’s too undercook in my opinion. I would have prefered if they cook it abit longer, add a dash of honey and maybe add some thyme. (but then, it’s just me. ;p)

Worrying that it might not be enough (hub is a HUGE meat lover), we ordered an additional side of Stir-Fry Roast Pork. I like this dish as the flavour has more punch to it. It’s stir-fried with some garlic and chilli padi. Hub was not really impressed with this as it’s quite common to get this dish in typical Chinese restaurant. The price seems a little steep too for a small bowl if compared to the platter we ordered.

While eating, we note a lot of Aussies dropping in for dinner. They have Aussie burger on their menu !!! oo.. how I miss aussie burger and beetroot. *drool*

Hub even remarked that eating here reminds him of Lygon street in Melbourne.

After we came home, I did some googling and found (with no surprise) that the café is owned by Australian couple. Cool. I foresee hub and myself returning there again for some of their juicy burgers. 🙂

ARGHHH… I know I say I won’t rant about unhappy stuff on my blog. But, I am too bloody pissed off…

How can BIG multi billion International corperation hire someone who can’t bloody speak english as their receptionist?! Esh… bleh

I mean how hard is it to at least say sorry and then follow by a string of your own language before hanging up. At least it would have made me feel that you try to put in some effort to be polite. Or at least say ‘NO understand’ !!!

All I did was say hello, can i speak to so-and-so,

and this lady launched into a string of sentences and then,  When I ask,

can you speak English?

She slam my phone. At first I thought it might have been some misunderstanding.

I call back 4 times.. and she slam my phone again and again. And towards the end, she didn’t even bother to let me finish. ARGHHH…

WHY? WHY? you can spend millions and millions for R&D, marketing and etc… BUT, your HR do not bother to hire someone who can bloody speak english as your receptionist ?!

sigh…
