Why don’t people just speak what they mean?

Nowadays, I often hear phrase constructed so flowery just to tone down / dress-it-up so that it sounds less harsh.

 

Giving constructive suggestions.

> It is basically an Insult / Critic

  • A critic is a critic, it doesn’t matter how it is phrase, it still hurts. In fact, it frustrate even more since this person is ‘trying’ to be nice about it.. You can’t shout *b*#cH* to their face !! Or even slap them. You just need to ‘gracefully’ accept them.

 

Gentle persuasion / strongly recommend / highly suggest…

> DO-IT-my WAY or the High-Way

  • If you want something done your way, DON”T give the impression that there’s an OPTION in the first place. Demand for it. And if I don’t take/agree to what you  ‘STRONGLY recommend’, you twist and turn to try and ‘GENTLY PERSUADED’ me to agree with your opinion

 

It’s not you – It’s me

> I want to break-up with you.

  • Lousy way to dump someone. IF it is over, just be done with it. GAME-OVER. I have no more feel for you. Basically, it really means that It’s not you. It is me who have problem with YOUR problem. I cannot stand YOU. You are the caused of these problem and I cannot take it anymore. Seriously, it’s not even fair. IF you do have a problem with your other half, at least voice it out and do a KPI or something. Give the poor thing a chance.

 

The company have to let you go

> You are FIRED.

  • Whenever I hear this phrase I always wonder, does this means the company actually don’t want to let you go? It is phrase is such a way as if the you are the one that wants to go… and the company LET / allow you to go. Whereas, in the first place, they WANT you to GO.

 

you are – Uniquely Special

> Weird-O

  • If I am special, why should i be uniquely special… ??!!

Andway, there’s many more of such phrase. These are just some which really tick me off. 😉

Why I still hate Dentist

Quietly staring at the phone. Chulet knows she has no choice but to call the dental centre.

Picking up the phone, she silently pray that the dentist will not be free and the next appointment will be one week later. (hopefully by then, the teeth no longer pains and there’s no need to go T__T )

No such luck. Dentist is free for 2pm appointment today.

Stared at the clock, 1:15pm … 45 mins to go.

2pm.

Sitting in the clinic. Name called. Walk the long hallway.

This is why I hate dental office. Then I recall, the last trip to a dental office was like 5 years ago.

Saw my dentist. A young girl.

OH NOOOoo.. my heart drop. Is she experience? How many teeth has she pull out? Should I pretend to have an urgent sms and RAN !!??

I braved myself and told myself it will be all ok.

Laying myself down onto the chair, she started examining my teeth.

She say the teeth turns yellow and it is dead already. Advice me to pull it out..!!

WHAT???!!! deep breath… ok ok…i can do it. I gave her the nod to proceed.

She inject something onto the gum and I start feeling numb…

ooo… numb is good.. This mean no pain, rite?

After she extract, she say the root of the teeth broke.

WHATTT??!!! Need further extraction. sobb sob…

Supposedly my teeth was quite brittle and deep.

So, she had to dig and dig and dig for a LONGGGG time.

Each time she say it’s done, she do a re-check and say still got one more. She did it like for 4 -5 times..

By then, I was shivering and praying… There was no pain yet but I am getting anxious.

Should I jump out from the chair and ran to another more experience dentist…?

Each time I persevere.  Telling myself it will be over soon.

Finally, she manage to extract the root out.

Bill was about RM 140 !! and she took over an hour and half (90mins) to extract ONE small teeth (this is not even those big teeth… it’s one of my baby teeth in front !!)

Went home, numb and tired.

Bleeding stopped after 3 hours later. Pop pain killer like nobody’s business.

This morning, I am still feeling pain.

The BIG teeth next to the small teeth which she pull out is having a throbbing pain. and when I gentle press it, it was a sharp pain. SHIT !!!

Is that normal… sobsob.. now I am worry.. sighh….

Should I go and see another dentist.. or should I just wait a few days more to see if it still hurts?

HELP !!! T___T

Beware of the spitting rain

Scenario : Chulet busy packing for her Europe trip with her hubby2B… (hmm.. must think of a name for him since I can’t forever refer him as hubby2B… ok ok. He shall henceforth be dubbed NinjaBoy).

 

Chulet : Hey, are you bringing enough warm clothing ? (Ninjaboy HATES the cold with vengeance)

Ninjaboy : Yes la…  hmm… must find a big plastic bag for water proofing.

Chulet : why?? what you need to waterproof ?

Ninjaboy : My backpack which has my laptop !! it’s not waterproof.

Chulet : but but… the salesman told me it is (I’m pretty sure that was what he say .. else I won’t have bought it too !!)

Ninjaboy : No la… he say Water RESISTANT only.

Chulet : Enough la.. the rain will roll away wan.. the rain in Europe in like Melbourne… small fuzzy puny drops.

Ninjaboy : **stare at me in horror ** (BTW< Ninjaboy is a virgin Europe visitor) NOooooooooOOOooo… i hate that type of rain. It’s like the sky keeps spitting on me. bleh.. i hate it.. arghh.. spitting rains.. NoooooOOoo…. it’s like the rain kept phui-phui-phui (sound of people spitting) on me… sighh….

Chulet : O__O  (huh? ……)
