3 1/2 qt, 30cm, Braiser, cast iron pot, dutch oven, Fennel, hong kong, Le Creuset, Sale

I love the French ovens / cast iron cookware. My first one is a 24cm Staub. Because of that, I have always favours Staub over to Le Creuset. But, it doesn’t mean I like Le Creuset any less, especially when there is an amazing price slash.

Recently, there is a huge Le Creuset warehouse sale in Hong Kong and one of my girlfriend who is staying there now kindly offered to check it out for me. Since I was not well-verse with the Le Creuset range, I started doing some research on it and settle on getting a braiser. ** Unlike the pots I already have, braiser is slightly shallower hence much more convenient for certain dishes I have in mind.

Viola ! here is the baby which my friend got for me… She told me it’s the last piece on the shelf. (OOo.. it’s meant to be mine) and the colour is FENNEL !!! the exact colour I wanted. Yay !! And the price was slashed from HKD 3,748 to HKD 1,350 ! (64% discount)

It’s so beautiful, right? It is surprisingly much lighter compare to Staub.

I can’t wait to fire it up in my kitchen…

Thanks again SP for going thru the trouble of getting it for me! Lugging it to Taiwan to pass to her mom. And then, her mom kindly carrying it all the way back to KL!!! paiseh paiseh as I know these babies are not light ! Thank you very much again !!!

Sick and Embarrassing

The flu finally show some sign of recovery by mid week. I was so happy about it since I need to be bringing some customers of mine who are visiting from France around Kuala Lumpur… I kept popping pills and drinking plentiful water hoping it will go away ASAP.

When that day come, I brought them to the customary picture taking session of our famous Petronas twin tower. Follow by a trip to the KL Tower. Everything was going on so well. Hubby had a great time pointing out the different location when we were at the top.

When we finish the tour, we made our way to the Hakka restaurant nearby. When we sat down, I started feeling a little sick. It was like the whole world is floating around. I tried to keep a smiley face and cheerfully chat away.

Halfway thru the meal, my world turn black and I crash onto the table !!!

Sigh.. Sobb.. sob…  T_T

Luckily I have managed to push the plate of rice in front of me away and utter “Dear, I’m not feeling too good” before the dramatic crash…

When I resurface from the blackout, I was drenched in cold sweat. Luckily hubby was there with me that day (it was a holiday, so, hub decided to tag along)… IF not, I am not sure how my customer would have reacted. ;p

I am so mortified!!! And embarrassed.

Later hubby told me that my customers was a little shocked and didn’t touch any of the food during the 1-2 minutes that I was out. Damn.. ops…

They were kind enough not to mention this episode to my boss or my other colleagues. ;p hahaha… IF not, I will be the laughingstock in the whole company.

Moral of the story : It takes time to heal… don’t think popping extra pills is going to help. blehh…

Sick…

Full blown flu since this morning. sob sob… feeling so tired. Wish I could skip work but not possible since there’s so many things to settle. le sigh.

Of all the flu variety, I hate leaky flu the most.

It’s so irritating. your eyes gets watery and you keep having to hold on to a tissue, which gets wet and soggy over time. (yuck…) sigh.. At least if it is the blocked nose type, you can still breath thru your mouth and avoid the need to keep rubbing your nose.

I gave up half day thru work and just stuff my nose with tissue. I stop caring about how my colleague will stare and laugh at me. It’s just too damn tiring to keep wiping your nose while trying to type. Not to mention, sore upper lip over time.

Down a huge cup of honey lemon during dinner and it seems better for a while. Unfortunately, it’s back again.

Arghh…
