Today we decided to go to this restaurant called L’atelier by Cilantro. Now, now, I know what you’re thinking. Chu-mama / Chuletz posted about this restaurant 11 years ago, and here I am, apparently writing about the exact same thing. But this time, things will be different. Cilantro is a fine-dining restaurant that is typically very expensive. In 2023, Cilantro introduced L’atelier to serve typical French bistro food. Anyway, let me tell you about my time there.

When you walk in, you will be greeted by the friendly staff who will show you where to be seated and will also provide you the menu. You can choose from either a 2-course meal (Appetiser and Main) or a 3-course meal (Appetiser, Main, and Dessert). We went for the 3-course meal. There was a huge variety of food to eat in the menu! Foods such as the Moules Marinière (Mussels stewed in white wine) caught my interest. Here are some of the appetisers you can choose from:

We ordered the Tartare the Boef, Os à moèlle au four, Moules Marinière, and Terrine de foie gras. My favourite was the Moules Marinère. It had a satisfactory smell. When I bit into the mussel, it was very tender and flavourful. The mussel was a pleasing light orange colour. It was also very easy to peel open the mussel shell. Unfortunately, I do not have a photo of the dish as it was so good we forgot to take a photo of it. Oops 😅. The staff also give everyone complimentary 2 slices of bread and piece of butter that I liked as well . I had also went exploring and found out L’atelier has it’s own little drinking area / bar.

It was then the Tartare the boef was served. I ate it with some small crackers. The tatare was pink in colour and had a chewy texture. Raw Beef !!! The only bad thing about it is that the mustard is bit too overpowering. Besides that, it was a pretty good tartare.

The bone marrow as very… squishy. I personally didn’t really like it, but mama loved it. She especially liked dipping the bread into it and eating it. It has a rich flavour, no doubt, but I also find most bone marrow a bit too squishy for my taste.

The foie gras finally arrived. It was mushy (not my kind of food-texture), but when eaten with the jelly, it started to taste a little better. Overall, it was pretty decent with the crackers. The foie gras was a light brown beige colour. One of the things I liked about it is that it’s soft, so you can mash it with your tongue inside your mouth.

Main dish time!

For some reason I decided to order a cheese sandwich. Mama ordered fish. We also ordered some steak and mash potatoes. The cheese sandwich was warm and crispy. To my delight, there were slices of turkey ham inside, which were very tasty. The fish was a bit overcooked and the sauce was a too overpowering, but it was okay. The steak was good at first, juicy, warm red center, tender texture, but I got a bit bored of the taste and resumed devouring the cheese sandwich. The mash potatoes were really good though 😋. They were creamy and tasted very potatoe-y.

Finally! Dessert time: Chocolate mousse, Crème Brûlée, Brioche with apples (I did not try this), and Crepe Suzette with Grand Marnier & vanilla ice cream on the side (I did not eat this as mama told me that Grand Marnier is a type of alcohol). I was in dessert haven. Chocolate mousse had silky chocolate cream inside and little crunchy chocolate balls. Yum 🤤. Crème Brûlée was crispy and creamy at the same time and for some reason tasted a bit like chocolate.

I really enjoyed my time here at L’atelier. I would definitely come back here again. The food is decent and the ambience is rather peaceful. The staff are friendly and the views from the window are amazing.

Gifts for family, Journaling, lalaport, Mossery, notebook, notebooks, stationery, writing

Today I went exploring in Lalaport. Found an interesting-looking bookxcess. Went exploring inside it – You know, typical things you do when you see an interesting shop. Guess what I found? A little shop called Mossery that let me create my own personalised notebook, that’s what I found.

Near the entryway, there is a small sign that shows you all the different steps on how to make the note book. It also shows some of the options that you have when you’re in the process of making a notebook. It only takes 3 simple and easy steps!

Let me explain the process to you.

First, you pick your desired notebook cover design and leave it on this tray the staff shall give you to hold all the items you pick at Mossery.

Next, pick your preferred type of pages. This is the most complicated and fun part of your time at Mossery. You see, they display all the different types of pages in one massive shelved area. Every type of page has one shelf to itself. Every shelf has a number from 1-9. You can pick as many different types of pages as you want. One rule: the items you pick, all of their numbers combined must add up to the 19-21. The good thing: there are at least 12 different types of pages to choose from! They have pages for planning your month/year, drawing, writing, and much more!

After that, you fill in a form of all the other stuff you want to add to your notebook cover! Some options include your name, an animal zodiac, horoscope or an emoji to print on to the cover of your notebook (Please note that there are additional charge for some Personalisation)

After filling in the forms, you are done. You just have to wait about 15-20 minutes for the sales person to put your notebook together. You then collect your notebook from them and do whatever you want with it. I would recommend it as a special gift for your loved ones and friends. I had an amazing experience there 😊. With so much variety of things to choose from, you can just spend ages looking at all the options! If you do decide to visit, I hope you have a fun and happy time there.

Chuby goes to ‘Genting Skyworlds’!

cable car, genting highland, Genting Skyworlds, theme park

I woke up early to get ready for The journey to Genting Skyworlds. It was really long as my family and I had to travel up a towering mountain to get there. While we were in the car, my ears felt a bit deaf. My Daddy taught me to pretend to yawn, stretching my jaw so that my ears pressure will pop. This continue as we ventured higher up the mountain.

We sat on the cable car and made ourselves comfortable in the red gondola that would take us to Genting Skyworlds, which is actually a theme park/tourist attraction. Mummy had pre-ordered our tickets online and entry was a breeze by scanning in with her mobile phone. Mummy also downloaded their Genting Skyworlds app which made planning easier.

Up Up Up… away we go… It was really misty going up hill.

Once entered, we waited for the Opening Ceremony where a group of performers danced around the big fountain. After that, we proceed to enjoy our day with different attraction and entertainments.

Opening Ceremony at the main entrance. It was really misty but not very cold.

In order not to carry all our belongings around, daddy put our bags in secured lockers which is available in different location around the park. Daddy decided to put our belongings in the ICE AGE world. After that, we headed off to the Blue Sky Carousel – RIO world. It’s my 2nd favorite ride in the park.

The next few rides were a blur to me now but Mummy counted about 8 types of rides we have went on. We went on more than 8 rides actually since I repeated some because I really liked them.

We stopped for lunch after Ice Age: Time Warp. Mummy booked a time-slot for this show using the VR Queue (inside the Genting Skyworlds app). It is actually a live show with different characters from the Ice-Age. I really liked the acorn seats they have at the front for the children.

After lunch, it was raining so we had to buy raincoats from the gift store to keep ourselves dry. It’s not cheap at RM15/pcs.

We ventured through the theme park to find ourselves playing a game of ‘Night At The Museum’ where we had to shoot as many museum exhibits as possible. I enjoyed it very much. This is my Number 1 favorite ride in the park.

Once the rain stopped, we rode a hang glider suspended above the entire Genting Skyworlds park – Samba Gliders. I personally found it too fast and had experienced silent terror the entire time we were on that ride. Unfortunately during one the turns, it was so fast, I slammed my head on the seat. “Ouch”.

When it was time to head home, we headed to the gift shop. Mummy agreed to buy for me the ‘bubble wand’. It flashed different coloured lights and dispensed bubbles from the small hole on top of the ‘bubble wand’. I love it!

On our way back home, we took the cable car again. I admired the beautiful forest view surrounding us. It was truly an amazing experience. Thank you Mummy for organising such awesome trip.

I made this drawing with sketches on my Ipad.

Hope you enjoyed reading!😁
