Sigh… It’s 12am. I am in bed checking my work emails and also Facebook. And I suddenly have this strong craving for Ramli burger… Oo ramli burger. How I miss you.

Unfortunately / or maybe fortunately… Our new home is so deep in the whoop whoop that it will take me at least 10-15mins drive to get to any late night supper / snack. Sigh…

I guess The only choice I have is to drink some milk and go to bed soon. Hopefully, I can will my craving away. Sob sob…

Hub and I head to Setia City Mall over the weekend to check it out. Turns out the mall is pretty close to our house using the NKVE. (Yay !!! another shopping centre to go to… Living in Shah Alam can be quite boring)

So after walking around, we decided to head to Khao for dinner (I was hooked when I saw that it was by Rama V). We have dined in RamaV several times and the food there was pretty awesome – not to mention to amazing ambient !

Unlike RamaV, Khao was catering to the casual dining crowd. They have impressive menu and some are similar to Rama V. Since there is only 2 of us, we decided to go for the set instead of their ala carte. I had the Green Curry Chicken Set (RM18.90) and hub had the Duck Curry with Lychee Set (RM21.90).

The Set comes with 3 appetizer (their famous chor lada, prawn cake fritter, pickled mangoes), 2 slices of watermelon, one bowl of clear soup and an egg on rice. The chor lada seems different from the ones we had in RamaV. But, since the price is lower, we didn’t mind it too much.

On the good note, we both agree that the flavors were good and not too spicy. However the curry was really watery. As you can see from the picture, it is really drowning with soup-like curry. The portion of meat is also quite sad to me. I was really disappointed. I would have preferred if they take away the other 2 appetizers and the clear soup to concentrate of giving me a better quality green curry chicken… bleh.

Don’t think hub and me will be returning to Khao…The meal was only so-so. And, it doesnt live up to Rama V standards.

God, Isaiah 64:8

Read an article today… Long story short,

It’s about a very smart young grad applying for manager position. Pass all interview thru to the final. Last one is with the Director of the company. Ask about his background and learn that he is brought up by a single mom who does washing for a living, and, admitted that he never help his mom (as his mom wants him to concentrate on his studies).

The Director request he go home to clean his mom’s hand and come back the next day to see him. Young Grad happily agreed. Went home and clean his mother’s hand. Shock by the lines and bruises. And teared when saw how much pain his mother felt even when he wash her hand with water. Helped his mother to finish up the washing for that day.

Went back for interview, and things he learn

1) To appreciate (no mom = no successful son)

2) To understand difficulty / suffering (the suffering of the mother to wash)

3) To value relationship (over monetary / materialism)

He was hired because the director is looking for someone who would be a team player, appreciate others help and not put personal goal / benefit over others.

This story reminds me of a verse.

” O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand” – Isaiah 64:8

It reminds me how God (like the mother in the story), is constantly doing so much for us. Sometimes, we do not recognize the good intention God have for us. And, we do bad / wrong things. It’s like the tiny stone in the clay, it cuts. And, in a way, this hurt God.

But, God never leaves us. He continues to mold us to be a better person. Thank you Lord.
